THIS IS AN ONGOING SAILING ADVENTURE! For detailed information please look at my web site... www.sailingadventure.webs.com https://www.findacrew.net/secure-server/eng/account/boat.asp?account=41243 June 23, 2010- August 5, 2010 Sailing in the San Juan Islands, Washington state, USA, the Gulf Islands and West coast of British Columbia, Canada. You may join me for as little as 2 weeks and up to the entire 6 week sailing adventure. Mid Aug 2010- Jan 2011 Sail from Lopez Island Washington to Ecuador Aug 17 Set Sail for Southern California through Sept 16, 2010. My preference is to have a crew on board for the entire month, but would entertain the idea of someone joining me or getting dropped off in San Francisco, CA. Depending on the weather, we will either sail continuously to California, or find safe harbors along the way until the weather passes. September 22, 2010 - October 12, 2010 Sailing in Southern California October 25, 2010- Jan 24, 2011 Continue to Mexico & the Sea of Cortez, where some of the best cruising and snorkeling in the world can be found. Later, we will sail farther south through the Mexican Riviera (west coast), on to Central America and Ecuador. PLEASE NOTE: THE EXACT DATE THAT WE LEAVE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS DEPENDENT ON THE WEATHER SOUTH OF THE BORDER. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WE WOULD LEAVE AS MUCH AS 2 WEEKS LATER. IF THAT WAS THE CASE, WE WOULD SAIL IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PRIOR TO SAILING TO MEXICO!!! January-March 2011 Jan 2011 Early January in Columbia for a week, then off to Ecuador Feb 2011: I plan on visiting old friends, presenting a 2 workshops; 1)soap making and 2) Making various body care products for the Seed Savers Network of Ecuador. Climbing Mountains, go on a Rain forest adventure, etc. Sailing to Isla De Lopez(A native Ecuadorian friend of mine's father built a house there) Upon arrival I will have sailed from Lopez Island, Washington to Lopez Island, Ecuador!!! Sailing to Isla De La Plata(AKA The poor person's Galapagos Islands) It is much closer to the mainland and without the extra expense. When I was there in January 2007, someone that was on the Charter boat I was on had recently come from the Galapagos Islands. He saw far more Blue Footed Boobies and a couple other species of birds on Isla De Plata than he did in the Galapagos!!! February, 2011 Sail to the Galapagos Islands. February, about 500 miles from Ecuador mainland. This run is up current and tends also to be upwind, so it can be a bit demanding and may involve some motor-sailing (using more than the usual amount of fuel). I understand that cruisers get to stay in the Galapagos about three weeks, but the rules are constantly changing. March 2011 Galapagos Islands to Easter Island. We will be visiting some of the most remote communities in the Southeast Pacific. Then sail to Pitcairn and continue checking out the South Pacific... This is an ongoing voyage...see web site www.sailingadventure.webs.com for details Cruising Style: The Canadian/Alaska part of the Voyage mainly consisted of coastal inland passages and occasionally out of site of land. During the voyage we did a lot of sailing, hiking, finding beautiful isolated coves, checking out harbor towns, uninhabited islands, fishing, crabbing, claiming, relaxing on secluded beaches, etc. This will continue on future voyages. I am totally open to your input and other ideas. Leisure style cruising, no rush no stress is what I desire for travel companions; willing to be active crew members & sharing expenses on my yacht. Crew can join for any length of time, generally no experience required, but can be useful. In Summer 2010 I will be sailing in the San Juan Islands, WA. USA and British Columbia, Canada. Then heading South in mid August to California and onward to Mexico & Central America. Arrive in Ecuador in January 2011; heading out to the Galapagos Islands in February, then Easter Island and the South Pacific. Looking for fit, active & adventurous easygoing singles or couples, to join me on my Voyage.
