Need crew to move your boat?

Having left the corporate world for a life of leisure and adventure, I am (usually) available on short notice as crew.

Recent trips include {2004} Cape May to City Island NYC, {2003} NYC to Annapolis to Oriental NC my own boat (solo except for Sandy Hook top Cape May), Tortola to NYC non-stop, Fort Lauderdale to Charleston SC (outside), {2002} Boston to New Haven CT, NYC to Annapolis, Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race (Annapolis to Norfolk) and return, Greenport LI to Annapolis, Annapolis to Block Is to Newport, Plymouth to Boston, NYC to Block to NYC (solo, my own boat), and {2001} NYC to St Augustine (outside).

I have sailed for 17 years (last 16 years as boat owner). An ex-combat Marine, former off-road motorcyle racer who once built and flew my own airplane, I have purposefully sailed in winds from 2 knots to 40+ gusting to 50+ (and non-purposefully in 0 to 1, and 50+). From my flying days I remember the FAA's phrase, "Safety is no accident". I've come to believe safety is more paying attention than it is equipment.

I am a non-smoker (not bothered by those who do) and do not drink while sailing. I eat what's put in front of me, and can cook nutritious meals without the inconvenience of ice or refrigeration. I am 5' 11", so fit 6 foot bunks. I have easy access to LGA, EWR, JFK, Amtrak and Greyhound. I am flexible on transportation costs until they approach three figures total.

My passport is current.

I tolerate everyone short term, and with a Will Rogers-like smile.

Comfortable with uncertain weather conditions.
