7k user Geoff Schultz just started his endeavour to expose this infamous
manufacturer --- If you have any 1st or 2nd hand experience with
Fischer Panda (or any other makes), his website is a good place to share information with.

I am happy to announce that I have reached a mutually agreeable settlement with Fischer Panda regarding issues that I have had with my 4.2 kW generator. Per the terms of the agreement I am required to shut down the Fischer Panda Owner's Forum located at I will do this on December 28, 2003.

I would like to thank all of the participants of the group. There have been about 2000 visitors to the site and 86 posts in 29 topics. Quite a bit of good information was posted, and I would like to suggest to Fischer Panda that they consider creating their own forum.

I'm about to head off to the South Pacific to begin a circumnavigation, but I can still be reached by e-mail.

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and a Great New Year!

Come'n Geoff... you didn't create that Forum just to blackmail Fischer Panda? FP gensets, and most of all, the company's attitude, sucks big time. How are we gonna warn other sailors after FP shuts you up?

I have a Entec-West Genset. It seems to be made of good parts but requires very frequent repair. I have spent $500 for parts to get this thing to 400 hours. Most problems seem to come from the tremendous vibration of running a single cylinder Diesel at 3600 RPM. Strongly advise against 1 cyl and/or 3600 RPM gensets. Lee
