Hi,

I'm new to this forum, but am familiar with the problem. :)

You're both right. (Crusty's email was sold to a list, but not by Cruiser Log.)

There are spammers out there who know to "lift" the email addresses from private databases without the knowledge/consent of the site owners. Most forum software packages have released updates which close that loophole.

I don't know what package Cruiser Log used, but, really, there's nothing they could have done about it. These guys would google to find out which sites used the particular forum software they knew how to crack.

Hope this helps... Sharon

I haven't had any problems with spam (any more than would be expected on the internet.) But I do have to compliment the Admin and moderators of cruiser log for helping Yachties affected by the Tsunami to keep in touch.

To bring on this subject again I have made numerous postings on cruiser log 2014 2015
and despite bob's assurances they all nearly have pop on ads appearing through all the posts.
