I am looking to sail to new zealand, by crewing on boats that need it. I live in canada and all i want to know is when to go. I have heard cyclone season begins in september in the southern hemisphere and am lookiing\ to begin my travels in late august september. Ar Are there many cruisers/yaghties/delivery skippers headed out at that time of year? come on experienced sailors, give me some information here, i'm young and bold. Where are some hotspots to go fish for rides? san diego? hawaii? panama? yaght clubs?

Hi Jack, Yes Panama is a good spot to catch a boat heading across the Pacific. We will be leaving in August. October- November is a good time to be heading from the Cooks or Tonga to NZ. Jamie and Lisa wildgoosesailingexpeditions.com
