Now, there is a new flag included in the sailor table. It's called the Public Email Flag.

If you set it to "Yes" in your profile form, every visitor can check out your email address. Part of your email address shows up as image, so spammer cannot run scripts to fetch in bulk. If you have an Ad on the Crewlist or you have something to sell under the classified, maybe you'd like to turn this flag on to not to lose any possible contacts.

However, if you want more privacy and believe visitors should sign up to use this system. you can set the flag to "No" in your profile. Everywhere in 7k page, people would see the email icon ** has two ** to its right. That means only sign-up members can check out your email address. When visitors click on it, it trigger the regular 7k authentication processes. Once s/he logs in successfully, the local mailer is activated and pops up an email window, so you don't have to do the image protection thing or using cut-and-paste anymore. Well, if you are at an internet cafe, you still have to copy and paste from the screen to Yahoo or hotmail. 7k has all his/her possible details when your email icon is clicked.

People (including yourself) can still "blindly" serach the email field under the "Sailor" list. That's nothing to worry about.
